Thank Yous
First Presbyterian Church was instrumental in making the 50th anniversary come together. They opened their doors for our Family Night gathering, giving us space to gather as a big community, enjoy each others' company, eat wonderful food, and celebrate 50 years.
More than that, First Pres' staff lent their considerable talents and expertise on how to pull off an event this size. They helped us in so many ways - advising on media and promotions, printing our materials (covering 100% of the printing cost), running and recording the livestream of Family Night, and presenting plate after plate of food for our gathering. In so many ways the Dale House Project has relied on First Pres' support through the decades, and we're excited that we celebrate 50 years in the same year First Pres celebrates 150.
Libby McKinley was an organizational and logistical superstar. She organized the events and agenda of the block party, made arrangements for the equipment of the block party, the DJ, and more. She organized the DHP art project and kept spirits up when the logistics of the event seemed to loom large!
Joni Sheffer helped in so many ways. She went through album after album of old photos, organized centerpieces and name tags, called old friends to see if they were coming, and helped interview George and Jane when sudden injury meant they couldn't be there on Friday. Joni organized art projects for the Block Party - a huge hit with the kids!
Young Life, our parent organization, chipped in by covering grounds maintenance for the entire 2022 season. While we were pulling together, it was a great gift to have our yards maintained so well! (It also kept George off our backs about the condition of the yard!)
Faith Presbyterian Church's youth group painted and cleaned up our property before the 50th!
Our Family Night Band of Jamie Hatman Clack, Mike Burson, Steve Ladden, and Angel Rideout set the tone for the night. Thanks to Jamie Hatman Clack for organizing the group and selecting songs based on RSVP recommendations.
Colorado College allowed us to use the parking garage of Ed Robson Arena - CC's new hockey arena right next door to the DHP - as our preferred parking space for the block party.
The Dale House Board of Directors led tours of our property during the block party - many thanks for learning the scripts and sharing stories with attendees!
Thanks to Ruth at KLE Catering for the Food Truck that served tacos (Bandidos Mexican Kitchen) and hamburgers (B-52 Burgers) during the block party! Mario's Ice Cream Truck provided shaved ice and ice cream treats!
Wooglin's provided hors d'oeuvres for our Family Night Experience and coffee and treats for the Memorial Service. We miss Wooglin's as our next door neighbor but we are so glad to keep enjoying their food!
Jake and Telly's provided so much wonderful food - meatballs, hummus, and so much more - for our Family Night experience.
Many thanks to Karson at All Star DJ's for great block party music!
Thanks to all the volunteers who manned tables, organized games, cleaned up and helped in so many ways:
